SPORTSReddy's crazy NFL rankings after week 12Ramesh C. Reddy The following week, when a team plays their opponent and wins against a winning or losing team, they get the teams winning percentage points of the previous week. If a team keeps beating a winning team, their percentage of points will be higher than if they beat a losing team. If a team plays an opponent and loses, they do not get any points for that week. Each week the points are tabulated and based on the points, I pick the top 10 teams of the NFL for that week including where all the other teams stand. If there is a tie in the point system, the net difference in their PF/PA is calculated and the team that has the highest net difference of points breaks the tie unless their record is better than the other teams with the same point system. If the tie continues, the team that won most games away from home would get the tie breaker. If it continues, it is based on their conference record, and then their division record. They are called Reddy’s Crazy Rankings, because I am ready to
take an undefeated team out of the Top 10 if their wins came against losing
teams. Hopefully, these rankings will show who really are in the hunt to be Superbowl Contenders and who really are in the hunt to be Superbowl Pretenders
as December and January approaches. Reddy's Reasonings After Week 12: Games of the week: (4) Denver (7-4) @ (1) San Diego (7-4), Dec 1, 4:05 p.m. San Diego can retain 1st place in the rankings with a win over the Denver Broncos. (20) Tampa Bay (9-2) @ (2) New Orleans (7-4), Dec 1, 8:30 p.m. New Orleans Saints can move back into 1st place in the rankings with a win over the Bucs and a loss by San Diego Chargers. Once again don't expect the Tampa Bay Buccaneer's 9-2, ranked 20th to be anywhere in the Top 10. Don't let their record of 9-2 make you think they deserve to be in the top 10. All their wins came against losing teams at the time they played them to make them have 8 wins except the 1 win against Green Bay Packers. That is why they have only 256 points in the rankings. Their losses came against the Saints (7-4) and the Eagles (8-3) who have winning records. They lost to the Eagles with Jon Gruden as their coach just as they lost to them with Tony Dungy as their coach. I would choose Dungy over Gruden any day! So, right now they are SuperBowl Pretenders in my book then again there are a lot of games to be played. If they start winning with anyone in the top 10, they will dramatically improve their points as the weeks go by. But with wins over losing teams or those with poor records, don't expect them to make much strides in the rankings. Games to watch where teams have an opportunity to move into my top 10 with a win and some help! (15) Tennessee Titans (6-5) @ (27) New York Giants (6-5), Dec 1, 1:00 p.m. (13) New York Jets (6-5) @ (7) Oakland Raiders (7-4), Dec 2, 9:00 p.m (31) Seattle Seahawks (4-7) @ (12) San Francisco 49er’s (7-4), Dec 1, 4:15 p.m. (24) Arizona Cardinals (4-7) @ (11) Kansas City Chiefs (5-6), Dec 1, 1:00 p.m Give us your feedback if you agree or disagree
