APPROACH QUESTION:
What do you think people in Hell are going through?

OBSERVATIONS:
I asked myself what are all the observations I see in this passage?
1. Repetition: not (2): not die, not quenched
fire (2): fire is not quenched, salted with fire
2. Conjunction: And is connecting 'their worm does not die, AND the fire is not quenched.'
3. Group setting: Everyone
4. List: What will happen in Hell: Their worm does not die; the fire is not quenched, and everyone will be salted with fire.

INTERPRETATIONS:
I asked myself what does it mean that 'the fire is not quenched and everyone will be salted with fire'?
Once in Hell, the fire will never go out as evidenced by Isaiah 66:24: "and the fire that burns them will never go out." Nothing can be done to stop the fire that will keep burning everyone there without mercy. When the people there are salted with fire after being devoured continually by worms, it will not be a pretty site but a continual pain and anguish from which there will not be an escape. It will be a place of utter horror.

APPLICATION:
I asked myself what are the implications of this passage to my life?
Knowing about Hell and it's vivid description given by the Lord in Isaiah 66:24 and Mark 9:48-49, Hell is not a place to be taken lightly but to let others know about it and it's dangerous to help them escape the dangers of Hell. These are only two references to Hell but there are a lot more given by Jesus. As I live this life, I need to be aware that tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone but 'it is appointed for man to die once and then the judgment'

Judgment without knowing Christ will result in a judgment of horror and anguish that you nor I should want ourselves to go through or anyone we love.

Every opportunity that presents itself, you and I should use it to let people know about Jesus Christ and how He alone can offer them Eternal Life and write their names in the Book of Life.

HOW GOSPEL GIVES ME TESTIMONY REGARDING E.S.C.A.P.E:

One day the Lord Jesus helped me do sort of a RAP to persuade others to escape the fires of Hell. It is written from the point of view: "What Satan does not want you to know for your escape"

Love to see people in the fire, they call me the evil one
Once in my dominion there is no where to run
People turn to me for all kinds of fun
I don’t tell them the damage that can be done
I love to invite you all to my place called Hell
Separated man and woman from God as they fell
When they listened to ideas I liked to tell
Now I am glad they are not well
For all eternity love to see them scream and yell
My favorite dish I like to serve is a virus called sin
In my clutches so glad no one can win
In your life I love to be in
You can join the rest of my kin
I have a way of invading the heart, soul, strength, and mind
My deadly virus has a way to keep you forever in a bind
When I fell from grace I took angels numbering one-third
I love to see people not following God’s Word
I specialize in offering lies as the truth
So in humans they can fully take root
Just as I tempted Adam & Eve to eat the fruit.
Cause my favorite event is called “Burn, baby Burn”
I am the Fallen Angel Lucifer, people come to learn
As Satan, I love to see people burn and mourn
Only tremble when to the Savior Jesus Christ, people turn

Love to see you in my presence, I am the Holy One
Love you so much, gave my only begotten Son
Believing in me you can have Everlasting Life.
Being delivered from the deadly power of sin’s strife
No matter what the sin virus has done
With my antidote, in life, you can victoriously run
My Son went to the cross to produce it
As His hands and feet, with 3 nails, were pierced with
And his body, for you, was bruised & broken by every hit
Now for humanity His cleansing blood flowed bit by bit
He died and came back to life to save you from Hell’s pit
Heaven and Hell are real and it is no myth
In Heaven, at my Right Hand, my Son does sit
Jesus is His Name!
For your redemption, He came.
To save you from Hell’s flame
And to give your life a new aim
His antidote of blood can rescue you from sin’s deadly game
But you gotta make a choice whether Satan or Jesus, you pick
Remember all of Satan’s ways are a trick
Jesus wants to deliver you from the sin that makes you so sick
Won’t you accept His free gift of Grace
Letting His Spirit help you overcome the virus you face?
His grace is what sets you free to win life’s race
Because of the antidote of blood shed to deliver you from sin’s ways
It is by grace you are saved through faith
Not of any works that you should boast, Jesus saith
You coming to me, Satan does hate
Because he is all evil to this date
Upon me He does not want you to wait
For He knows I can deliver you from Hell’s place
And set you on Heaven’s base
Come to me my child
No matter how your life has been wild
For I am gentle and mild
You, with love, joy, & peace I want to treat
And One day in Heaven personally greet
I want to receive you with the power of my love
And give you my Holy Spirit that came upon me like a dove
Sin separated you from me
But my blood was shed to set you free
So together we can once again be
Life with me you gotta experience and see
Though trials and tribulations come, I will be your Key
Whether you are a child, adult, or teen
No matter how your life has been
I want to take you by my side
In my presence, you can abide
For you I came back to life after I died
My love for you is so deep, high, and wide
You are special and precious in my sight
I want to help you in life with all my might
Helping you do what is right
To escape sin’s destructive bite
Now Satan’s ways you can fight
And come into the beautiful Light!
Amen!

I ask you now dear friend, what do you help your friends E.S.C.A.P.E from?
Dear friend, if you are able to help your friend escape from a destructive life, from danger, etc, if you are truly their friend, you will take every opportunity you get to help them plan their escape from the things that will hurt them or bring destruction to them. Don't think of HELL as an abstract concept that does not need to be thought of right now. No friend, Jesus spoke about it candidly many times because Jesus was warning people of the dangers of Hell and wanted people to escape Hell to the point that Jesus alluded to a graphic example of cutting of hands and feet and gouging of the eye if it will help escape Hell.

If you know your friends do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Personal, you should let them know about Jesus if they are willing to listen to you but do it with a gentle spirit and a relational attitude than a 'fire-brimstone' methodology.

Let Jesus use you for His honor and glory so you can be someone's hero pointing them to the Truth. You will just be the vessel but the rescue to escape from Hell already started with Jesus. Jesus provided a way out for humanity to escape Hell when He died on the cross, shed His precious blood on the cross to provide the antidote, and came back on the third day to save. Jesus did that all for you and me so we don't have to be subject to the fires of Hell but we have to believe in Jesus and His sacrificial death for our redemption.

Once we believe it and give our lives to Jesus acknowledging Him as our Lord and Personal Savior, He will take care of the rest. He would have covered over our sins with His blood and when God looks at us on the day of judgment, His judgment will passover us because He will see Christ's righteousness imputed to us. God will see Jesus righteousness covering over us. When we are covered by Christ, our names are already written in the Lamb's Book of Life and we can hold on to the Heavenly promise in Isaiah 66:22-23: “As surely as my new heavens and earth will remain, so will you always be my people, with a name that will never disappear,” says the Lord. "All humanity will come to worship me from week to week and from month to month."

Yes, friend this is what we can be part of and help others be part of when we help them escape Hell because the alternative is "And as they go out, they will see the dead bodies of those who have rebelled against me. For the worms that devour them will never die, and the fire that burns them will never go out. All who pass by will view them with utter horror.” (Isaiah 66:24, NLT)

You don't want that for your friends or loved ones. I know I don't want that. We are just the instruments to be used by the Lord but the saving starts with Jesus Christ. He is the One that saves souls and brings them to Himself so we do not have to worry about conversions to Christ but focus on showing the compassion of Christ to others and leading them to see the Christ of the Bible for themselves. There they will come to know about Jesus, God, Holy Spirit, Heaven, Hell, etc on their own. In God's timing, they will come to realize that Jesus is the One for them and He says who He says He is that He is Lord and there is no other. Letting them see Christ for who He is and helping them understand God's grace and mercy, you will be helping them escape the fires of Hell. Yes, friend you will!

"There is no other Name in Heaven whereby we must be saved except the Name of Jesus Christ!" (Acts)

PRAYER:
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you so much what you have taught me this morning. Lord, I know that Hell is real, the worm never dies out, the fire is never quenched where everyone there is salted with fire, and their appearance in anguish becomes a horror if we were to see it. Oh Lord, I don't want that for my friends and those that do not know you so please Lord Jesus, if they do not know you, bring them to you. Help them experience your compassion and love. Use me as an vessel to let others know the dangers of Hell. Please Oh Lord. Thanks so much Jesus. Thank you for your grace and mercy. Thank you for hearing me and answering me! In Your Name I Pray Jesus! Amen!

May my spoken words and unspoken thoughts be pleasing even to you, O Lord my Rock and my Redeemer." (Psalm 19:14)

Lord Jesus, You are my all in all. You are my Prince of Peace, Rock, Savior, and Friend. You are my Holy Father guiding me through to live a life of righteousness, holy righteousness. Oh God, I need you more than ever. I need to feel your hands around me holding me tight. I need your love to surround me so that you can glow in my life. Help me please Jesus. I desire in your presence. Thank you for guiding me to live a life of righteousness. Oh God you love me more than ever. You hear my voice when I cry out to you. When I seek your face, you fill me up. You are my all in all. Thank you Jesus so much for your help no matter what I face, your grace is available and you take my case. Thank you for hearing us and answering us. In Your Name I Pray Jesus! AMEN! (Most of the prayer is from a vineyard song called “All in All”)

May you experience the POWER OF CHRIST'S RESURRECTION this day, and give Him the LOCKED areas of your life too so you can experience His PEACE as you become an ACTOR in the film called LIFE being directed by your DIRECTOR, JESUS CHRIST who comes to give JOY and PEACE.

You don't have to be locked away anymore for Christ is here to free you and give you peace to LIVE out your actions.

How do you look at GODISNOWHERE?

One of my pastors, Pastor Hugo SHARED this example one Sunday at the RESURRECTION DAY SERVICE in the combined worship service of Pittsburgh Chinese Church-Oakland & Oakland International Fellowship:

If you look at it as GOD IS NO WHERE, you will still be lost in your sin and be in bondage locked away in your sins and problems finding no peace.

But as my pastor spoke to the congregation and spoke to me, I am here to tell you that GOD IS NOW HERE.

Yes, friend God is aLIVE and wants to bring a transformation in your life through the GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ for He paid the penalty on the cross to rescue you and me and came back to life to save us and LIVE with us.

Yes, friend that is exciting to know that we can experience HIS SAVING GRACE & LIVING GRACE.

When we mess up, we can go to Jesus with our shortcomings and He will forgive us and RESTORE us to Him and we will find peace in Him.

^"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23, NIV)

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:7-9, NIV)

Friend, we need Jesus because we have been separated from God due to our sin. Because of our sin, Jesus had to pay the price to become our bridge so we can reach God now not of our own good works but because of the finished work of Christ, the Lord on the cross.

"For it is by GRACE you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9, NIV)

Come to Jesus as you are and pray this prayer to accept Jesus as your Lord and Personal Savior. He will transform your life around! Praise the Lord! You don't have to have all the answers! You can come as you are!

If you want to be a soldier in the Lord's army, you can become it right now. Now is the time of Salvation! You do not have to wait but can pray this prayer and give your life to Christ to serve Him daily! There is no draft but coming to Christ is voluntary. He loves you so much and wants you to come to Him! He will take care of you, guiding you and leading you!

PRAYER:
Dear Jesus, I love you. Thank you for loving me so much and thank you for choosing the cross to die for me. You became the Son of Man and lived here on earth. Then you humbled yourself and became obedient to death-even death on the cross. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sin. You died on the cross so that I can be covered in your blood and cleansed by your blood as I acknowledge that I need you and cannot enter Heaven without you being my pathway. So, Jesus I confess all my sins to you and all the ways I have tried to get into Heaven when you already provided the means and the Way. Thank you for all that you have done for me. "The cross is the place, a wonderful place where accused and condemned find mercy and grace. Thank you Jesus, it is at the cross where the wrongs we have done and the wrongs done to us were nailed at the cross. Thank you Jesus, at the cross you died for our sins and at the cross you gave your life for us." I thank you for that and thank you for coming back to life to save us. Thank you Jesus for being there for me! Thank you for loving me. I love you Jesus! Please take me as I am and make my life into something that you will be proud of. I surrender my life to you and need your help to live for you. I am forever grateful for what you have done for me and I can never repay you. I want to live for you and need your help. Help me Jesus please. I thank you Jesus for saving me! Thank you for hearing my prayer and answering me. Whatever your will give me the willingness and strength to bear it. Thank you Jesus! I acknowledge you as my Lord and Personal Savior! In Your Name I Pray precious Jesus! Amen!

No matter what you feel in your heart, know that Jesus has come in and resides with you! You are not alone! To make your walk strong with the Lord, spend time in prayer talking to Him as you would to a friend. You don’t need special words to talk to the Lord. Spend time in His Word reading Psalms and turning them into prayer. Next allow God to heal you and speak to you through the Gospel of John or Gospel of Mark before moving on to other Books of the Bible! Slowly, let the Lord show you to which Scriptures He wants you to go to next. It is also important to be part of a body of believers to help you grow in the faith. Find a Bible believing church that preaches the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation proclaiming Jesus Christ our crucified and risen Lord who brings us hope, healing, and help! But beware of churches who do believe in the Word of God completely but there is no freedom in Christ but legalism involved.

As a professional, it is not too late to join a church! As a student, it is not too late to join a fellowship on campus this new year of 2009! May the Lord's presence and peace fill you with His love now and forever! Amen!

Friend, if you have prayed this prayer and meant it in your heart, you are a new creation in Christ and all old things are passed away and everything has become new! You may feel something or may not but don’t base it on feelings but base your new life in Christ on the promises of our Savior who will never leave you nor forsake you! Amen!

Spend time in His word and let the Lord speak to you! Start out in the Gospel of John! You can also check out the Gospel of Mark which are the devotionals I have been going through. Learn from Jesus through study and prayer. Also find yourself a church fellowship and a college fellowship you can be part of where you can be part of a community of believers to supplement your own walk with the Lord. Let it be a Bible-believing and Bible-breathing church! Believe in Bible LIVE Eternally!
