“Inheriting Nurturing, Holy Emmanuel’s Redemption Involves Truth!” (I.N.H.E.R.I.T)

Publisher
Ramesh C. Reddy

SCRIPTURE:
“And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.” (Matthew 19:29, NIV)

“On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”  “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”  He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.” (Luke 10:25-28, NIV)

“As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother.’”  “Teacher,” he declared, “all these I have kept since I was a boy.”  Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth. (Mark 10:17-22, NIV)

Observation:
I asked myself what phrase keeps coming up in these 3 passages?
These three passages have a similar phrase, “inherit eternal life”

Interpretation:
I asked myself how these 3 passages are related when it comes to ‘inherit eternal life?’
It occurred to me that in all 3 passages, Jesus is pointing to Himself to inherit eternal life:

1. “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.” (Matthew 19:29, NIV)

Jesus is reminding the crowds, “Everyone who has left for my sake will inherit eternal life!”

2.  He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.” (Luke 10:25-28, NIV)

In a previous discussion concerning Mark 10:17-18, it was determined that Jesus is God. Accordingly, Jesus informs the legal expert that God must be loved with all one's heart, soul, strength, and mind. Additionally, individuals are instructed to show love towards their neighbours.

3. Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”  At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.(Mark 10:21-22, NIV)

Jesus is telling the rich man, to follow Him to receive eternal life by putting Him first over wealth.

IMPLICATIONS:
I asked myself what the implications for my own life are?
The implications for inheriting eternal life are significant. In all three instances examined, the focus begins with Jesus, who must remain central for one to inherit eternal life. Achieving this requires placing Jesus above family, wealth, and even the distinct dimensions of human existence—Physical (Strength, Heart), Intellectual (Mind), and Emotional (Soul)—with respect to heart, soul, strength, and mind. It is asserted that eternal life cannot be inherited without Jesus at the core. Accordingly, it becomes essential to surrender one's life to Jesus and allow Him to guide and work through the individual.

I ASK YOU NOW:
I ask you now dear friend, when will you I.N.H.E.R.I.T Eternal Life?
Dear friend, you will inherit Eternal Life when you give your life over to Jesus and follow Him in the here and now. There is no other time to wait. Now is the time of Salvation.

“Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment” (Hebrews 9:27, NIV)

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12, NIV)

“I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.” (1 Corinthians 15:50, NIV)

“For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.” (Hebrews 9:15, NIV)

“Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?” (James 2:5, NIV)

“He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” (Revelation 21:6-8, NIV)

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” (John 3:16-18, NIV)

“Inheriting Nurturing, Holy Emmanuel’s Redemption Involves Truth!” (I.N.H.E.R.I.T)/”When do you I.N.H.E.R.I.T Eternal Life?”

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, you point to yourself to inherit Eternal Life. You want us to follow you, Lord. You are God and there is no other. There is no other name in Heaven that we must be saved except your Name Oh Lord. So, please help us to follow you in the PIE dimension of our lives whether it is physical, intellectual, emotional, and so on. When it comes to family, wealth, and all areas, help us to put your first and foremost please Lord Jesus. Thank you so much Lord Jesus. Thank you, Jesus, in you we can inherit Eternal Life. In Your Name I Pray Jesus! Amen!

If you would like to invite Jesus Christ into your heart and make Him a daily part of your life, you can this very moment. You will never be alone. You can claim God's promises for you in the Bible and see them come true, before your eyes, in His wonderful timing. You don't have to wait for a special time to come to the Lord. You can come right now as you pray the prayer below, meaning it in your heart.

Prayer:
God I am a sinner. I am invaded by this deadliest virus. Many times I feel so guilty and yucky inside. I need forgiveness. I am so sorry for my sins. I have not obeyed you with my whole heart! I have gone my own way and done my own things. I  struggle with sin. I need you Jesus in my life so I can receive forgiveness and a new beginning. In the process, I can forgive others as you help me too. Thank you so much Jesus. I accept the antidote you have sent me. I believe Jesus you died for me and your cleansing blood will cleanse me from all my sins. You came back to life to save me. Thank you God I am set free, free from the bondage of sin. Hear my cry Oh Lord. I accept you Jesus into my heart. I make you my Lord and Personal Savior of my life. Thank you Father God for giving me Salvation. Thank you Jesus for coming into my heart and making my heart your home. Thank you for living in me Jesus and I will live for you and serve you the rest of the days of my life. Thank you for being my Lord and personal Savior! I can live a life of peace with you on my side. Thank you that you have heard my prayer and answered me! In your Name I Pray Jesus! AMEN!

No matter what you feel in your heart, know that Jesus has come in and resides with you! You are not alone! To make your walk strong with the Lord, spend time in prayer talking to Him as you would to a friend. You don’t need special words to talk to the Lord. Spend time in His Word reading Psalms and turning them into prayer. Next allow God to heal you and speak to you through the Gospel of John or Gospel of Mark before moving on to other Books of the Bible! Slowly, let the Lord show you to which Scriptures He wants you to go to next. It is also important to be part of a body of believers to help you grow in the faith. Find a Bible believing church that preaches the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation proclaiming Jesus Christ our crucified and risen Lord who brings us hope, healing, and help!

"May my spoken words and unspoken thoughts be pleasing even to you, O Lord my Rock and my Redeemer." (Psalm 19:14)

May the Lord Jesus guide you in His love leading you! Amen!
