'Iron Man' is about a guy named Tony Stark who owns Stark Industries, a weapon manufacturing company, but finds himself at the mercy of Middle Eastern terrorists who force him to build a missile capable of mass destruction until his friend helps him become Iron Man with his own material that the terrorists got hold of. Now back to the U.S., he comes back as a changed man after 3 months of captivity and does not want to use his company for destructive purposes but is faced with an unexpected enemy who will use his company for the most evil purposes. The revolves around Stark and what he does to ensure his company is not used for evil.

'Iron Man' is an explosive superhero action-adventure packed with weapons of mass destruction and addresses issues such as fear, respect, friendship, sacrifice, betrayal, loyalty, greed, pride, and repentance. It is a movie worth watching over and over again minus the bed scene which occurs with a reporter in the beginning of the movie.

There is a bed scene in the beginning of the movie without nudity.

There is a lot of weaponry violence.

Barely to none

'Iron Man' has an exciting plot that keeps you on your edge until the movie is over.

What I liked about the movie: (SPOILER ALERT)
1. The sacrifice Stark's friend made to save his life and the remark: 'Don't waste your life'

"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13, NIV)

2. The change in Stark before captivity and after captivity.

3. The hard work of Stark to make a difference in the lives of others.

"Work hard and become a leader, be lazy and never succeed." (Proverbs 13:13, TLB)

4. The question:
'Do you want people to fear you or respect you?'

5. The role of the reporter in exposing atrocities.

"If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small. Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to die; save them as they stagger to their death. Don’t excuse yourself by saying, “Look, we didn’t know.” For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your soul knows you knew.  He will repay all people as their actions deserve." (Proverbs 24:10-12, NLT)

6. 'Iron Man's' existence to save the lives of innocent human beings.

7. The loyalty of the one that raised him since he was young.

"Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart." (Proverbs 3:3, NLT)

8. Good triumphing over evil.

"Turn from evil and do good, and you will live in the land forever." (Psalm 37:27, NLT)

"But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one." (2 Thessalonians 3:3, NLT)

9. The dangers of the love of money when it leads to greed and evil.

"For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows." (1 Timothy 6:10, NLT)

10. The dangers of non-accountability.

“The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions." (Deuteronomy 29:29, NLT)

"Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable." (Hebrews 4:13, NLT)

What I disliked about the movie: (SPOILER ALERT)
1. The bed scene in the movie because they were not married!

"But you can’t say that our bodies were made for sexual immorality. They were made for the Lord, and the Lord cares about our bodies. And God will raise us from the dead by his power, just as he raised our Lord from the dead. Don’t you realize that your bodies are actually parts of Christ? Should a man take his body, which is part of Christ, and join it to a prostitute? Never! And don’t you realize that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? For the Scriptures say, “The two are united into one.” But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him. Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body." (1 Corinthians 6:13a - 20, NLT)

1. What did you like most about the movie, why or why not?

2. What did you not like about the movie?

3. Would you like people to follow you because they fear you or because they respect you, why or why not?

4. When you say you are someone's friend, what does that actually mean to you?

5. What do you think is the difference between a friend's loyalty & a friend's betrayal?

6. What about you when it comes to 'you and the Creator of the universe'?

7. What have you sacrificed in your life for the sake of others?

8. How can you ensure that you don't waste your life and who holds you accountable?

9. You may not be 'Iron Man' but what can you do to make a difference in the lives of others?

10. What situations do we see in the movie that the Word of God speaks against?

11. What areas in your life can people say that you have persevered amidst trials?

12. Stark changed his life and became Iron Man but what about you?
