Christ Offers Mighty Message Asking Now Delightful Surrender! (C.O.M.M.A.N.D.S)”

SCRIPTURE:
When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.” (Matthew 1:24, NIV)

APPROACH QUESTION:
"Whose commands do you follow in life and why?"

OBSERVATIONS:
I asked myself what do I learn about Joseph?

1. When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife!

INTERPRETATIONS:
I asked myself why is it so significant that Joseph did what the angel of the Lord had commanded?

For Joseph, the thought of taking Mary home as his wife was very troubling when he found out that she was already pregnant but when the angel of the Lord commanded him and told him why he should take Mary home as his wife, he obeyed. He did not go his own way but did as the angel of the Lord commanded him to. There was no disobedience in Joseph thinking to himself what would other people think if I obey the Word, etc. On the contrary, he obeyed the Word.

IMPLICATIONS:
I asked myself what are the implications for my own life?

I need to obey the Lord's commands especially when it is difficult for me. For obedience without sacrifice is easy and anybody can do it. It is obedience that comes while I  am sacrificing my own desires to the cross for the Lord's desires is what makes the Lord Jesus happy. I want Jesus to be happy and known for obeying His Word. Lord Jesus, please help me.

I ask you now dear friend, whose C.O.M.M.A.N.D.S do you obey in life?
Dear friend, the commands we obey in life also reveal a lot about our character. When it comes to commands, there are only two that are vying for your obedience. One is the Lord who loves you so much and wants to give you abundant life. The other is Satan who hates you so much and wants to steal, kill, and destroy your life. The choice is yours who you will obey but with the choices come consequences too. Obedience to the Lord is the right way to go friend. So come and obey His Word this Christmas season and beyond. The Lord knows what is best for you and wants to be your 'Immanuel - God with us', revealing Himself to you in a special way.

Jesus said, "The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy but my purpose is to give life in all it's fullness" (John 10).

Yes, friend Satan wants to rob you by deceiving you into thinking it's not worth obeying the commands of the Lord when they take away your fame, fun, and fortune. But friend, even if you were to get fame, fun, and fortune but you have no joy, what is the use. This is the path Satan wants to lead you too.

But with the Lord Jesus, when you obey His commands and even if they don't lead to fame, fun, and fortune, you will have the joy of the Lord and have the peace that you are doing the will of God belonging to the King of Kings and Lord of lords. When you have that peace, what else could you ask for. When you are obedient to the Lord's calling as Joseph was even though it was difficult for him, the Lord will take care of the rest just as he did for Joseph. Yes, friend but it starts with a full surrender of your life to Jesus and all He wants for you.

This is not to ever say that Christians will never have fame, fun, or fortune. They still could and when it is achieved because of the Lord's blessings in our lives through that means, there is nothing wrong. But if it is not achieved and our faith is growing strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, we will have all the spiritual fame, spiritual fun, spiritual fortune with Jesus as our Lord and Personal Savior guiding us and leading us through. This is exciting to know friend.

My loving wife Chandraleela loves to sing the hymn, 'I Surrender All'. It is a powerful hymn about complete surrender and obedience to Jesus, the Lord and Savior of the Universe. When you and I completely surrender our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ, we in essence will be able to obey His commands not in our own strength but in the strength of the Lord by His grace. That is exciting to know! Help me Jesus!

"Walk in the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh!"

Friend, for obeying the Lord's commands is the only way to have true freedom. When we obey His Word, we will realize what sinful beings we are in need of a Savior. That is why Jesus came as God-incarnate to live among us to save us from our sin. But Jesus did not just come to save us but to help us make Him the Lord of our lives so we can have abundant living and true freedom. That is exciting friend for me. I hope it is for you too.

"Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Freedom!"

So come as you are and give yourself to the Lord asking him to forgive you of all your sins and give you a new beginning. He will friend! Yes, He will this Christmas season! Praise the Lord!

May you understand that the commands of the Lord are for your blessings and benefit though you may not understand always why we have to do the things we have to do in His Word. Yet, He will reveal it in His timing! Praise the Lord!

"Christ Offers Mighty Message Asking Now Delightful Surrender! (C.O.M.M.A.N.D.S)"/"Whose C.O.M.M.A.N.D.S do you obey in life?"

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I pray Oh Lord that you would help me be obedient to you Oh Lord. When we are obedient to you, we can be obedient to all you call us to do whether it is being a good husband/wife, good father/mother, good son/daughter, etc. For that all to happen, we need you Oh Lord. We cannot obey your commands without your help for there will be tremendous interference from Satan to lead us astray. But this Christmas season, I pray Oh Lord that you Oh Lord would bring back to you those that are going astray from the path you have chosen for them. Help them to know for certainty that you alone can give abundant life and abundant living. We all need you and ask for your help surrendering our life to you and asking you to make our life what you want it to be. Help us to obey as Joseph did. Thank you so much Jesus! In Your Name I Pray Jesus! Amen!

Lord Jesus, You are my all in all. You are my Prince of Peace, Rock, Savior, and Friend. You are my Holy Father guiding me through to live a life of righteousness, holy righteousness. Oh God, I need you more than ever. I need to feel your hands around me holding me tight. I need your love to surround me so that you can glow in my life. Help me please Jesus. I desire in your presence. Thank you for guiding me to live a life of righteousness. Oh God you love me more than ever. You hear my voice when I cry out to you. When I seek your face, you fill me up. You are my all in all. Thank you Jesus so much for your help no matter what I face, your grace is available and you take my case. Thank you for hearing us and answering us. In Your Name I Pray Jesus! AMEN! (Most of the prayer is from a vineyard song called “All in All”)

If you would like to invite Jesus Christ into your heart and make Him a daily part of your life, you can this very moment. You will never be alone. You can claim God's promises for you in the Bible and see them come true, before your eyes, in His wonderful timing. You don't have to wait for a special time to come to the Lord. You can come right now as you pray the prayer below, meaning it in your heart.

Prayer:
God I am a sinner. I am invaded by this deadliest virus. Many times I feel so guilty and yucky inside. I need forgiveness. I am so sorry for my sins. I have not obeyed you with my whole heart! I have gone my own way and done my own things. I  struggle with sin. I need you Jesus in my life so I can receive forgiveness and a new beginning. In the process, I can forgive others as you help me to. Thank you so much Jesus. I accept the antidote you have sent me. I believe Jesus you died for me and your cleansing blood will cleanse me from all my sins. You came back to life to save me. Thank you God I am set free, free from the bondage of sin. Hear my cry Oh Lord. I accept you Jesus into my heart. I make you my Lord and Personal Savior of my life. Thank you Father God for giving me Salvation. Thank you Jesus for coming into my heart and making my heart your home. Thank you for living in me Jesus and I will live for you and serve you the rest of the days of my life. Thank you for being my Lord and personal Savior! I can live a life of peace with you on my side. Thank you that you have heard my prayer and answered me! In your Name I Pray Jesus! AMEN!

No matter what you feel in your heart, know that Jesus has come in and resides with you! You are not alone! To make your walk strong with the Lord, spend time in prayer talking to Him as you would to a friend. You don’t need special words to talk to the Lord. Spend time in His Word reading Psalms and turning them into prayer. Next allow God to heal you and speak to you through the Gospel of John or Gospel of Mark before moving on to other Books of the Bible! Slowly, let the Lord show you to which Scriptures He wants you to go to next. It is also important to be part of a body of believers to help you grow in the faith. Find a Bible believing church that preaches the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation proclaiming Jesus Christ our crucified and risen Lord who brings us hope, healing, and help!

No matter who you are, it is not ever too late to join a Bible-believing church or a college fellowship. I highly encourage each of you to come to Small Group on Friday nights at 7:30 p.m. and Oakland International Fellowship on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. for prayer, 10:00 a.m. for Community Bible Time in Gospel of John, worship at 11:30 a.m, and fellowship lunch at 12:30 pm.

May the Lord's presence and peace fill you with His love now and forever! Amen!

Friend, if you have prayed this prayer and meant it in your heart, you are a new creation in Christ and all old things are passed away and everything has become new! You may feel something or may not but don’t base it on feelings but base your new life in Christ on the promises of our Savior who will never leave you nor forsake you! Amen!
