“Thank Happily
Almighty's Kindness! (T.H.A.N.K)”

SCRIPTURE:
"Jesus then told him sternly, "Go and be examined immediately by the
Jewish priest. Don't stop to speak to anyone along the way. Take along
the offering prescribed by Moses for a leper who is healed, so that
everyone will have proof that you are well again" (Mark 1:43-44,
NIV)
Observations:
I asked myself what
are the commands Jesus gave the man and how?
Jesus gave the man couple of commandments sternly:
1.
Go and be examined
immediately by the Jewish priest.
2. Don't stop to speak to anyone along the way.
3.
Take the offering prescribed by Moses for
a leper who is healed.
Observations/Interpretations:
I asked myself the
significance of each point?
Point 1:
Go and be
examined immediately by the Jewish priest.
I see Jesus being obedient to Scripture
and telling the man who was healed from leprosy to take along the
offering prescribed by Moses. This is very relevant in that Jesus wants
the man to follow what we consider to be part of the Old Testament
(Leviticus 14).
When we become Christians, we cannot
ignore reading the Old Testament because we feel we are under the New
Covenant. The Old Testament is Scripture and God uses His entire Word to
speak to us. It is important to realize
that if Jesus said something in the New Testament that should take
precedent though.
Point 2: Don’t stop to
speak to anyone along the way.
It is implied by the offering that God should be thanked by the
man before he does anything else including telling other people what
happened to him. When the Lord answers our prayers it is so important to
go to the Lord and thank Him first for what He has done for us before going to
anyone else.
Point 3: Take the
offering prescribed by Moses for a leper who is healed.
There can be a tendency to pray and accept God's answer and not
take the time to offer our praises to Him. God inhabits the praises of
His people. Even though we have done away with sacrificial offerings we
can still praise the Lord with our lips and bring the sacrifice of
praise unto the house of the Lord. We can still offer out gratitude and
thankfulness to the Lord our God!
Implications:
I saw important implications for my own life. When the Lord Jesus brings
help, hope, and healing in my life, my top priority should be to thank
Him and acknowledge where I was and where I am now because of Him. It is
not to go my own way and do my own things. When Jesus healed the man of
leprosy, Jesus wanted the man to thank God first and foremost and offer
himself to the Lord before he does anything else. I need to do the same.
To be continued....
I ask you now dear friend, who should you thank
everyday first and foremost for good news?
Dear friend, when I was rescued, restored, and renewed from the place I
was in to the place I am in now, the first and foremost thing I did was
thank the Lord Jesus for my rescue, restoration, and renewal. I knew it
is because of His redemptive work in my life that I am where I am. When
I have good news of any sort, I make it a habit not to go to anyone with
it until I thank the Lord and praise Him for it, for all good things
come from the Lord. This is what the Lord wants us to do. He wants us to
give Him first and foremost place in our lives even if we have the
temptation to shout across the rooftop of what good thing happened to
us. Jesus is always about pointing upward to the Father and it is
wonderful to learn from the principles Jesus taught. May you thank
happily Almighty's nurturing kindness! Amen!
On Sunday, Jesse reminded us from
Colossians 4:2
-
"continuing steadfast in prayer, being watchful in
it with thanksgiving."
"Thank Happily Almighty's Nurturing Kindness!"/(T.H.A.N.K)/"Who should you
T.H.A.N.K everyday first and foremost for good news?"
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you so much after you healed the leper, you told him
to go to the priest to be examined, not to speak to anyone, and offer
the sacrifice required. Oh Lord, from this I learned that no matter what
good happens to us, you and you alone are the one to receive the thanks
first and foremost. Father God, forgive me when I am so excited about
any news that I don't give you the thanks first and foremost. Help me to
do that Lord. For all good things come from you and we need you Oh Lord.
Thanks so much! In Your Name I Pray Jesus! Amen!
Lord Jesus,
You are my all in
all. You are my Prince of Peace, Rock, Savior, and Friend. You are my
Holy Father guiding me through to live a life of righteousness, holy
righteousness. Oh God, I need you more than ever. I need to feel your
hands around me holding me tight. I need your love to surround me so
that you can glow in my life. Help me please Jesus. I desire in your
presence. Thank you for guiding me to live a life of righteousness. Oh
God you love me more than ever. You hear my voice when I cry out to you.
When I seek your face, you fill me up. You are my all in all. Thank you
Jesus so much for your help no matter what I face, your grace is
available and you take my case. Thank you for hearing us and answering
us. In Your Name I Pray Jesus! AMEN! (Most of the prayer is from a
vineyard song called “All in All”)
"May my spoken words and
unspoken thoughts be pleasing even to you, O Lord my Rock and my
Redeemer." (Psalm 19:14)
No matter what you feel in your heart, know that Jesus has come in
and resides with you! You are not alone! To make your walk strong with
the Lord, spend time in prayer talking to Him as you would to a friend.
You don’t need special words to talk to the Lord. Spend time in His Word
reading Psalms and turning them into prayer. Next allow God to heal you
and speak to you through the Gospel of John or Gospel of Mark before
moving on to other Books of the Bible! Slowly, let the Lord show you to
which Scriptures He wants you to go to next. It is also important to be
part of a body of believers to help you grow in the faith. Find a Bible
believing church that preaches the Word of God from Genesis to
Revelation proclaiming Jesus Christ our crucified and risen Lord who
brings us hope, healing, and help!
May the Lord's presence and peace fill you with His love now and
forever! Amen!
Friend, if you have prayed this prayer and meant it in your heart, you
are a new creation in Christ and all old things are passed away and
everything has become new! You may feel something or may not but don’t
base it on feelings but base your new life in Christ on the promises of
our Savior who will never leave you nor forsake you! Amen!
