“Will Is Lustfully Lost! (W.I.L.L)

Ramesh C. Reddy
Publisher

SCRIPTURE:
"As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. "Good teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?" Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good—except God alone. You know the commandments: 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother." (Mark 10:17-19, NIV) "

Approach Question:
"What do you do with your will?"

Observation:
I asked myself what does Jesus tell the man he must do to inherit eternal life?
Jesus tells the man 6 things to do to inherit eternal life:
1.
Do not murder
2.
Do not commit adultery
3.
Do not steal
4.
Do not give false testimony
5.
Do not defraud (No coveting)
6.
Honor your father and mother

Interpretation:
I asked myself the significance of Jesus telling the man these 6 commandments to receive eternal life?
The significance is that the commandments Jesus reminds the man of are from the 10 commandments
(ref. Exodus 20:12-16, Deut 5:16-20), specifically the 6 horizontal commandments between man and man. Jesus was letting the man know that to receive Eternal life, he has to be perfect with his neighbor. Jesus did not even address the other 4 commandments which had to do with a vertical relationship with God. In this instance, I believe Jesus was reiterating a high standard for the man to apply with those around him, his neighbors.

Will the man receive Eternal Life?

To be continued...

Implications:
I saw important implications for my own life. I learned the high standards Jesus reiterated for a person to receive Eternal Life and they are based on keeping perfectly the commandments of God. So, if I keep all those commandments, then I can receive Eternal Life. The only problem is that I cannot keep those commandments in it's strictest sense because Jesus defined those commandments more specifically in the Sermon on the Mount which I have broken in my heart. Therefore, I cannot have Eternal life on my own because of the commandments I have broken using my free will. But the Good News is in Jesus Christ!

I ask you now dear friend, which commandment does your will break easily?
Dear friend, there are 6 commandments that Jesus listed for the man to keep to receive Eternal Life and if he keeps to them perfectly then he has Eternal Life! But whether he kept the commandments perfectly are based on the standard of God and not his own standard. Now, this gives me an opportunity to reflect on what commandment I have broken easily. It should make you reflect on the commandment you have broken easily too because we all have broken at least one of those commandments if not more, especially if we apply the 'Sermon on the Mount' test to those commandments.  This means I know that I cannot inherit Eternal Life on my own because of the sins that I have committed with my own free will. You too need to be aware of that because Eternal life is very important to attain otherwise the man would not have asked Jesus that question, of all the questions, he could have asked. The man cared about his soul and we should too.

However, there is hope for you and me and it is in Jesus Christ. He came to give us Eternal Life because He knew we could not achieve it on our own because of missing the mark or standard set for us by God. We need to accept what Jesus did for us so that we can be right with God even though we break at least one commandment everyday. However, when God sees us, He will see us covered in the Blood of Jesus and His judgment will Passover us if accept what Jesus did for us on the cross of wood to make us good in His sight so we can be with Him who is the Light. Jesus knew we were of no good on our own so He made a way for us through His blood shed on the cross of Calvary to save us by His grace.

"The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;  there is no one who does good. God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. Everyone has turned away, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one." (Psalm 53:1-3, NIV)

The Psalmist reiterates what he wrote in Psalm 14 and it becomes significance here because this Psalm 53 follows Psalm 51 and Psalm 52 after David's confession of murdering Uriah and committing adultery with Bethsheba.

"Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me." (Psalm 51:5, NIV)

"All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. No one calls on your name or strives to lay hold of you; for you have hidden your face from us and made us waste away because of our sins." (Isaiah 64:6-7, NIV)

To put it in a nutshell, even what we think as righteous-good acts are like filthy rags to the Lord. Filthy rags refer to the cloth used during a women's menstruation cycle which is considered unclean and referenced in Leviticus. That is how God sees what we think of as good works because in God's eyes there is no one righteous.

"As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless;  there is no one who does good, not even one." "Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit." "The poison of vipers is on their lips." "Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness." "Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know." "There is no fear of God before their eyes."(Romans 3:10-18, NIV)

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. " (Romans 3:23-24, NIV)

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God." (Romans 5:1-2, NIV)

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8, NIV)

We cannot attain Eternal life without Jesus Christ who is God and who paid the price for our iniquities.

"Will of the Human!"
By Ramesh C. Reddy
(Published first online in 1999)
(Revised on Wed, May 26, 2010 at 5:38 a.m.)

Human, human, what have you done with your free will?
What will be your life's final bill?
Will your will take you, up or down hill?
Your heart, mind, and soul, how have you decided to fill?

Is it by taking a high drug pill?
In the end, it will only give you a kill!
Whether you are Jack or Jill!
Cause drugs will give your brain a bad chill!

Is it by watching filth?
In the end, your mind will be corruptly built!
As your conscience won't understand innocence from guilt!

Is it by engaging in forbidden acts?
In the end, they will make you realize the dangerous facts!

Is it by joining a street gang?
In the end, there is usually a bang!
As you are hit by a bullet's poisonous fang!

Is it by living your life away from God?
In the end, with joy you cannot nod
As you land on Hell's pod!

Cause life's bill won't still be paid!
And these activities known as sin will give you a raid!
As your mind and heart start to fade!
Because that's not the reason, you were made!

But there is still a way out!
If you decide to confess Jesus with your mouth!
Jesus loves you so much, I have no doubt!

Your problems and pain, you can give to Him
Even when the chances of going up hill look slim
And your life's future looks dim!

For Jesus paid the ultimate cost!
To pay the price for the lost!
That in Him we may have abundant life and not rust
So we are not trapped in Satan's lust!

Jesus' blood was shed for you and me!
His love and healing power is available for you to see!
Through life's trials and tribulations, strong you can be!
For the Holy Spirit will come to thee
And be your life's Answer Key!

In the Savior, when you savor!
In Him, you will find favor!
For He loves you so much!
There is no love as such!

He will lead you by His gentle hand!
In this troublesome land!
In prayer, as you accept the Lord in your heart
And let the Lord's grace do the final part
Giving your heart, mind, soul a new start!

Amen!

"Will Is Lustfully Lost! (W.I.L.L)?"/"Which commandment does your W.I.L.L break easily?"

Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, I learned today that my will cannot keep your commandments on my own. You listed 6 commandments that are horizontal commandments to be kept in light of our neighbors. I have not always kept to those commandments because you have defined them more clearly in the Sermon on the Mount. I see that I have broken them. I am sorry Jesus. I cannot keep them of my own will because I have a tendency to break. Forgive me Lord. I know without you my will will go it's own way. I need you Jesus. Please help me Jesus and guide me by your Holy Spirit, for you are my Answer Key. You paid the price when I was lost, paying the ultimate cost. Thank you so much Jesus for what you have done for me on the cross of Calvary. I accept what you have done for me. You shed your blood for me to give me new life. Thank you so much Jesus. Help me to live for you and serve you Oh Lord. I pray right now for the one who is struggling in their will to find you. Help them Oh Lord. Receive them and save them by your grace. Thank you so much Jesus. Thank you that you have heard my prayer and answered me! In Your Name I Pray Jesus! Amen!

You don't have to be locked away anymore for Christ is here to free you and give you peace to LIVE out your actions.

How do you look at GODISNOWHERE?

One of my pastors, Pastor Hugo SHARED this example one Sunday at the RESURRECTION DAY SERVICE in the combined worship service of Pittsburgh Chinese Church-Oakland & Oakland International Fellowship:

If you look at it as GOD IS NO WHERE, you will still be lost in your sin and be in bondage locked away in your sins and problems finding no peace.

But  as my pastor spoke to the congregation and spoke to me, I am here to tell you that GOD IS NOW HERE.

Yes, friend God is aLIVE and wants to bring a transformation in your life through the GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ for He paid the penalty on the cross to rescue you and me and came back to life to save us and LIVE with us.

Yes, friend that is exciting to know that we can experience HIS SAVING GRACE & LIVING GRACE.

When we mess up, we can go to Jesus with our shortcomings and He will forgive us and RESTORE us to Him and we will find peace in Him.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23, NIV)

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:7-9, NIV)

Friend, we need Jesus because we have been separated from God due to our sin. Because of our sin, Jesus had to pay the price to become our bridge so we can reach God now not of our own good works but because of the finished work of Christ, the Lord on the cross.

"For it is by GRACE you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9, NIV)

Come to Jesus as you are and pray this prayer to accept Jesus as your Lord and Personal Savior. He will transform your life around! Praise the Lord! You don't have to have all the answers! You can come as you are!

May the Lord Jesus guide you in His love leading you! Amen!

If you are reading this and do not know Jesus as your Lord and Personal Savior and would like to invite Jesus Christ into your heart and make Him a daily part of your life, you can this very moment. You will never be alone. You can claim God's promises for you in the Bible and see them come true, before your eyes, in His wonderful timing. You don't have to wait for a special time to come to the Lord. You can come right now as you pray this prayer, meaning it in your heart. You can invite the GREAT PHYSICIAN right now as you make this your prayer.

Dear Jesus, I want to be free. I don’t know everything about you. I still have a lot of questions. What I do know is that you died on the cross for my sins. When it comes to sin, I am a paralytic Oh Lord. I am infected with this deadly disease known as sin. I am not perfect but a sinner who needs your cleansing blood to clean me of my sin. I confess to you my sin and repent of my sin. I know you have forgiven me when you died on the cross and shed your blood. I want to accept that forgiveness. Thank you for shedding your cleansing precious blood for me. You were nailed to the cross because of me. It is like I actually held the hammer and pounded the nails. Thank you for willingly dying for me Jesus. Thank you for taking the shame and pain for me. Thank you for doing that to set me free. I come to the cross and ask you for your healing in my life. Thank you for the power of your love using your Blood to redeem all humanity that comes to you. Thank you for coming back to life to save us and giving us Eternal Life as we yield to you. Your blood can heal us where we are. I love you Jesus. I want you Jesus. Even with my questions, I come to you now and accept you into my heart. Please Jesus come into my heart and make my heart your home. Give me a transfusion of change. Live in me Jesus and I will live for you and serve you the rest of the days of my life. I thank you Jesus for coming into my heart and making my heart your home. Thank you for living in me Jesus. I acknowledge you now as my Lord and Personal Savior. Please be the Lord and Savior of my life. Thank you for being my Lord and Personal Savior Jesus and because of what you have done for me when God looks at me, He now sees me covered in Your blood and His judgment passes over me. Thank you that you have heard my prayer and answered me. Thank you for being with me Lord and Personal Savior! Thank you for saving me. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit. Thank you Jesus I now belong to you and never need to be alone! You will always be with me and have given me Salvation.  Thank you that you have heard my prayer and answered me! In Your Name I Pray Jesus! Amen!

May my spoken words and unspoken thoughts be pleasing even to you, O Lord my Rock and my Redeemer." (Psalm 19:14)

No matter what you feel in your heart, know that Jesus has come in and resides with you! You are not alone! To make your walk strong with the Lord, spend time in prayer talking to Him as you would to a friend. You don’t need special words to talk to the Lord. Spend time in His Word reading Psalms and turning them into prayer. Next allow God to heal you and speak to you through the Gospel of John or Gospel of Mark before moving on to other Books of the Bible! Slowly, let the Lord show you to which Scriptures He wants you to go to next. It is also important to be part of a body of believers to help you grow in the faith. Find a Bible believing church that preaches the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation proclaiming Jesus Christ our crucified and risen Lord who brings us hope, healing, and help! But beware of churches who do believe in the Word of God completely but there is no freedom in Christ but legalism involved.

As a professional, it is not too late to join a church! As a student, it is not too late to join a fellowship on campus this  new year of 2010! May the Lord's presence and peace fill you with His love now and forever! Amen!

Friend, if you have prayed this prayer and meant it in your heart, you are a new creation in Christ and all old things are passed away and everything has become new! You may feel something or may not but don’t base it on feelings but base your new life in Christ on the promises of our Savior who will never leave you nor forsake you! Amen!

Spend time in His word and let the Lord speak to you! Start out in the Gospel of John! You can also check out the Gospel of Mark which are the devotionals I have been going through.  Learn from Jesus through study and prayer. Also find yourself a church fellowship and a college fellowship you can be part of where you can be part of a community of believers to supplement your own walk with the Lord. Let it be a Bible-believing and Bible-breathing church! Believe in Bible LIVE Eternally!
