“Helping Everyday Lord Protects! (H.E.L.P)”

SCRIPTURE:
"Our help is from the Lord who made Heaven and earth!" (Psalm 124:8, TLB)

What stuck out to me was how 4 things were revealed by the Psalmist in this verse alone:
1-2:
Our help is from the Lord.
3.
Lord who made Heaven
4.
Lord who made Earth

It is exciting for me to know that the One who is the maker of Heaven and earth can be my Helper too! Wow! Thank you Jesus! For He who made Heaven and earth, nothing is impossible for Him if He chooses to act. Thank you Jesus!

How true this has been in my life as I reflect back on this week with three examples.

This past Sunday evening, I started to feel sick with a raspy throat which turned into throat pain.  Then, I had broken sleep throughout the week. It was worse on Wednesday night when I had such a terrible headache that I could not do anything.

Throughout my sickness, I prayed to the Lord:
"Lord Jesus, I plead your precious blood. By faith I claim your promise, by Your wounds and stripes, I am healed. I trust in you Lord Jesus. By faith I claim your promise, '"I want you to trust in me in your times of trouble, so I can rescue you and you can give me the glory!" (Psalm 50:15)'

Usually when I get sick, I get sick to the point that I miss work for atleast 3-5 days needing a doctor's excuse to return. It is His grace and mercy that delivered me this past week.

The hardest part of being sick was quarantining myself from my precious wife
Chandraleela, and our precious daughters Evangeline and Esther. As much as I wanted to spend time with them, I chose not to fearing they will get my sickness. So, I became a couch potato in front of the TV by myself in my sickness.

I prayed for the Lord to help them not to get sick and in His mercy, I got better and they did not get sick. I even prayed,
'Lord, I need your help because we have Game Night this Saturday so I need to be healthy'   because I needed to take care of my daughters. Pastor Hugo had already posted regarding Game Night and we did not want to cancel it. The Lord heard every prayer and helped me get better.

When I was speaking at work on Wednesday, an employee asked me,
'Are you sick?'

My response was,
'Who told you I was sick?' Her response was, 'You sound sick!'. I told her that I am recovering from being sick because I knew the Lord was healing me.

As I think back to this week, tears filled my eyes out of gratitude to the Lord for His intervention and help,
for my help is from the Lord, the maker of Heaven and earth!

It would have been almost impossible to have Game Night and Dinner for our Desi friends if I was sick. But just in time, I was made healthy again. On Thursday night, I went grocery shopping for all the ingredients, etc and came home really late.

What I heard when I came home is nothing compared to what I went through during the week. My precious wife told me that Evangeline fell down from the bed while Esther was playing with her. It is the Lord's grace and mercy, she did not hit her head on a keyboard stand that was rod like that was below. Instead, she hit her side of the neck but nothing serious happened even though she cried and cried. When Chandra told me what happened, tears just rolled down my cheeks while I was praying too. It reminded me how the Lord Jesus protected Evangeline. Even after her fall, when she saw my picture on Chandra's phone when I called she laughed recognizing her daddy. Thank you Jesus.

I share these testimonies with you to say that the same Lord whom the Psalmist believed in for His help is the same Lord that delivered us this week in two separate incidents. He can be your Helper too. Yes, He can my friend.

I ask you now dear friend, where do you turn to for H.E.L.P in crisis?
Dear friend, as the Psalmist believed in the Lord for help and how I believed in the Lord for help, you can too. Just as the Lord has helped us, He will be your Helper too when you turn to Him for help. He who made the Heaven and earth, wants to be your Helper too.

Instead of focusing on the crisis at hand, look to the Lord who can handle the crisis for you if He chooses too. I say chooses too because sometimes the Lord allows us to go through our crisis for years too to mold us the way He wants us to be.

When we are in the arms of the Savior, no matter what is happening, we can be assured of His promise: 'I know the plans, I have for you says the Lord, they are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope!' (Jeremiah 29:11, TLB)

Don't let Satan deceive you into thinking, things will always be the way they are and nothing will change because if it would have changed, it would have happened by now. Hogwash. Our help does not come the way we want it always but it does come. Thank you Jesus! I love you!

Whatever you are going through, I want you to be reminded of this Bible story when change does not happen in your life right away but the crisis seems to loom:

There was a man named Naaman, a Syrian who had leprosy. When the prophet told him to go into the river and submerge his body there so his leprosy can be healed, he did that. But nothing happened. As a high official, he could have been embarassed and shamed that nothing did not happen. But the prophet asked him to do it again and he did with no results on the outside but shame and ridicule. This continued to happen for 6 times and he patiently did it for 6 times BUT on the seventh time, he submerged himself in the water, his leprosy was completely cured.

There is a profound message and application for all of us here and that is we should never give up on the Lord seeking His help. The prophet was sent by the Lord to heal Naaman, the leper. The healing happened on the 7th attempt but it did happen and he received the help he needed. What if he had stopped the 6th time, then nothing would have happened and he would have missed out on the miracle.

For you, it may not be 6 times of doing one thing but it could be that the Lord wants you to wait upon Him for His help in months, years, or decades but don't give up waiting on the Lord. You would not know what you have missed out if you give up. So, please receive the help He wants to give you and wait on Him. Thank you Jesus.

"Those that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint!" (Isaiah 40:31, TLB)

"Helping Everyday, Lord Protects! (H.E.L.P)/"Where Do You Turn To For H.E.L.P in crisis?"

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you for being our Helper and taking time to be involved in our lives. You who created the Heaven and earth take time to take care of your children. Thank you for teaching me the importance of turning to you in crisis and the miracles you do in our lives. Thank you for reminding me of the importance of waiting upon you for help without giving up even if it is in months, years, or decades. Thanks for healing Naaman, the Syrian who did not give up. You can help us too as we hold on to you because when we hold on to you, we are holding on to hope! I pray right now for the one who is so discouraged and in pain because they have things they want to see happen but it is not happening. Intervene Oh Lord and help. We wait on you. Thank you Jesus. In Your Name I Pray Jesus! Amen!
