“For Every Affliction Reaches Savior! (F.E.A.R)!”

Editors Note: This devotional was originally sent through email on Wednesday, November 04, 1998 at 12:22:49 p.m. to InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) students and others who wanted to receive daily devotionals at the University of Pittsburgh while I was serving at IVCF! It is being republished on Pittsburgh Standard today.

SCRIPTURE:

"I sought the Lord and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears" (Psalm 34:4)

Many times when we have fears, there is a tendency to wallow in our fears. It is human inclination to be paralyzed with fear when so many things are running through our mind and we wonder if we will ever accomplish what we want accomplished. We could easily be worried and fearful about the outcome of our studies and our lives. But, our Lord and Savior does not want that for us. We are His precious children and when we seek Him, He will answer us and deliver us from all our fears.

This type of fear is not 'fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom' but it is 'paralyzing fear' that makes us fret and worry. Whatever you are facing turn your fears into prayers and lift them up to Jesus. He waits to always listen to you. Remember that our lives are in the Lord's hands. Whether we are faced with academia, the work force, relationships, etc we can have confidence knowing that God is in control of our lives. As we seek Him and give our best, He will take care of the details of our lives even when things look slim.

The important thing is we have to seek the Lord to overcome these fears. We may have other solutions to combat fear but no solution is like the solution Jesus Christ can give. His peace will surpass all understanding so give each of your afflictions to the Savior because they will reach him. Live your life to the fullest without giving up in anything knowing if God is for you, who can be against you.

"Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord" (Zechariah 4:6)

"For Every Affliction Reaches Savior (F.E.A.R)"/"What can you do with your F.E.A.R.S in life?"

                                                Peace for Worry
                                                            By Ramesh C. Reddy

Please leave to the Lord your worry
He is never busy nor in a hurry
Your worry, He will bury
You don't have to for yourself feel sorry
Your burdens He wants to bear
And show you His loving care
So trust in Him
Even when your chances are Slim
And the future looks Dim
Amen!

Prayer:
Dear Jesus, thank you so much that we can come to you. You love us so much and care for us so much. You are always there for us and when we seek you, you do deliver us from all our fears. Please Lord forgive us when we try to deal with our own fears without taking your help. I thank you that you will deliver us from all our fears. We trust in you Lord. Thank you so much that it is not by might, nor by power but by your Spirit Oh Lord that we are delivered. Thank you that you want to bear all our burdens and how much you care for each one of us. We lift up to you every academic, relational, work-related, family, friends concerns that we maybe dealing with and thank you that we never need to be alone. Thanks that all our afflictions reach you and we put our trust in you! In Your Name We Pray Jesus! Amen!

May the Lord Jesus guide you in His love leading you! Amen!

No matter what you feel in your heart, know that Jesus has come in and resides with you! You are not alone! To make your walk strong with the Lord, spend time in prayer talking to Him as you would to a friend. You don’t need special words to talk to the Lord. Spend time in His Word reading Psalms and turning them into prayer. Next allow God to heal you and speak to you through the Gospel of John or Gospel of Mark before moving on to other Books of the Bible! Slowly, let the Lord show you to which Scriptures He wants you to go to next. It is also important to be part of a body of believers to help you grow in the faith. Find a Bible believing church that preaches the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation proclaiming Jesus Christ our crucified and risen Lord who brings us hope, healing, and help by His grace alone!
