Watch 'End Game' Trailer

Main Cast:
Cuba Gooding Jr. – Secret Service Agent Alex Thomas
Angie Harmon – News reporter Kate Crawford
James Woods – Vaughn Stevens
Anne Archer – The First Lady
Burt Reynolds – General Montgomery
Jack Scalia – The President
Peter Greene – Jack Baldwin

Plot Synopsis:
The movie ‘End Game’ is an edge of the seat political thriller where every move is like a chess game not knowing who will be the next victim. It involves the President of the United States, the  First Lady, Secret Service, CIA, and a military General. It will keep you guessing who is pulling the strings behind every evil action.  Cuba Gooding Jr and Angie Harmon give exceptional performances as those intent on putting a stop to the evil. Gooding plays Secret Service Agent Alex Thomas and Harmon plays  investigative news reporter Kate Crawford working to find the truth.

Content Review:

It is rated R for violence and some language. It is the only violent R-rated movie I have seen where only 3 bad words were used. That is really good! It just shows movies can be made to like without language. It is a must see movie if you are into political thriller movies. Not having language is good!

“Don't use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” (Ephesians 4:29, NLT)

Spiritual Insights:

As I was watching the movie, a character takes his problems to the bottle. This reminded me of a passage in the Bible about the dangers of getting drunk.

“Who has anguish? Who has sorrow? Who is always fighting? Who is always complaining? Who has unnecessary bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes? It is the one who spends long hours in the taverns, trying out new drinks. Don't let the sparkle and smooth taste of wine deceive you. For in the end it bites like a poisonous serpent; it stings like a viper. You will see hallucinations, and you will say crazy things. You will stagger like a sailor tossed at sea, clinging to a swaying mast. And you will say, "They hit me, but I didn't feel it. I didn't even know it when they beat me up. When will I wake up so I can have another drink?" (Proverbs 23:29-35, NLT)

There is a scene that involves adultery and its consequences. This reminded me of a passage regarding adultery.

“Drink water from your own well--share your love only with your wife. Why spill the water of your springs in public, having sex with just anyone? You should reserve it for yourselves. Don't share it with strangers. Let your wife be a fountain of blessing for you. Rejoice in the wife of your youth. She is a loving doe, a graceful deer. Let her breasts satisfy you always. May you always be captivated by her love. Why be captivated, my son, with an immoral woman, or embrace the breasts of an adulterous woman?” (Proverbs 5:15-20, NLT)

When a person comes in the way of a bullet, it is done in the hopes of saving someone else. This reminded me of the Bible verse from John 15.

“And here is how to measure it--the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends.” (John 15:13, NLT)

There is a lot of killing in the movie. This reminded me of a Bible verse dealing with the consequences of murder even though the consequences may not be evident right away at times.

"Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed;     for in the image of God has God made man.” (Genesis 9:6, NIV)

It is a government agent that kills of the murderers. This reminded me of a verse in on capital punishment.

“But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.” (Romans 13:4, NIV)

All of the killings occur because of one of the 7 deadly sins!

Questions to Ponder:

Where do you think the Bible verses fit in the movie?

How do you handle your problems?

Why should adultery be a big deal but is not reflected in society?

When have you sacrificed anything for someone? Why did you do it and how did it make you feel?

What is your end game?
