Blade: Trinity Trailer

Plot Review of “Blade: Trinity” released on April 26, 2005 on DVD/Video:

It is a movie about a vampire hunter who once was a vampire but has taken the side of human beings. He hunts vampires down to kill them. He is aided by the Night stalkers who help him pursue Dracula and the vampires that work for him.

Content Review:

There are 41 F words in this action-adventure movie which could have been done without them. This movie is worth watching to see what people go through to help others who are in need. Blade sacrificed his own cravings so he could protect the humans.

“But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices.” (Colossians 3:8-9, NIV)

Scriptural Implications:

As I watched this movie there was a scene where Dracula wears a cross and goes into a store that sells vampire stuff and kills the workers there. For him what he wore over his neck is just a symbol. Later during the movie, he asks his friend who is also a vampire why she wears that symbol on her to which she responds that she was a ‘Catholic girl once’. He tells her that he was there when they crucified Jesus and that Jesus died for the sins of humanity but not for him. He orders her to take of that symbol. Dracula does not even call it the cross.

I loved the way that the producers brought in Christ’s sacrifice for humanity to save humanity from their sins. In the movie Dracula is bent on destroying humanity to appease his own cravings while as Blade is intent on sacrificing his own desires to protect humanity.

The cross is not just a symbol but there is so much love in the cross if people just realize the reason of the cross.

What does the cross mean to you?

“Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:14-17, NIV)

In the movie, we find out that Blade was filled with a virus that makes him a vampire and do evil things to human beings. We also find out that a serum was made for him so when he takes it, he does not become a vampire because the antidote works in his body. In the same way, we all are filled with a virus known as sin. It infects our bodies and makes us a prisoner and slave to evil. As long as we allow it to rule in our lives, we will want to do what sin wants. People cannot escape sin but there is Good News. It is called being born-again. Once we are born again, we actually have received an antidote against this virus. This antidote is the reddest antidote known to mankind. We need to accept this antidote and have a transfusion of change. The antidote has already been provided to humanity and humanity needs to accept it and take it in. I am talking about the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ that can make us white as freshly fallen snow and heal us. Once we accept what Jesus has done for us, we will have accepted the Holy Spirit to live in us and guide us.

“Walk in the Spirit, and we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” (Galatians)

In the movie, we see three people fighting directly against evil. These three people have flaws but it reminded me of the Trinity without any flaws who help us fight evil! The Trinity: God, the Father; God, the Son; and God, the Holy Spirit help us to fight evil.

“For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. We accept man's testimony, but God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son.” (1 John 5:7-9, NIV)

“The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says: “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin. Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:15-25, NIV)

In the movie, we see vampires depending on other people’s blood to survive forever. If they don’t have the blood, they starve. In our lives, we also need blood to survive forever. I am talking about the blood of Jesus Christ. Once we ask Jesus to cover us with His blood, God’s judgment for our sins will pass over us because God sees Jesus Christ and His righteousness in us. This way we will have Eternal Life and live forever with Him in eternity.

We are all slaves to something whether it is to sin or to God. I choose to be a slave to God and reap the benefits of His promises than a slave to Satan and reap destruction.

“But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Roman 6:22-23, NIV)
