Editors Note: Pitt band member Matt Keeny shares his experiences from Morgantown, West Virginia before and after Panther's upset of the Mountaineers.  Hundreds of Pitt students celebrate at the Litchfield Towers. Watch the slideshow below.

So it all started when we got off the highway onto the exit for Morgantown. We knew we weren't welcome as soon as we crossed the border. The bus convoy carrying the team, band, and cheerleaders was bombarded with everything from rocks to eggs to beer cans.

Rabid West Virginia University (WVU) fans came and banged their fists on the sides of the bus, and toddlers began screaming obscenities with their parents and other fans. We got into the stadium safely via police escort to find 60,000 crazy West Virginians yelling in unison. The "Let's Go Mountaineers" was one of the loudest things I have ever heard.

At 7:00 min into the first half, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the score standing at 0-0. After two missed field goals, you could hear a pin drop in the stadium. When WVU Quarterback Pat White came back into the game in the 4th quarter, there was such a sound that I couldn't hear the person two feet away from me.



After it was all said and done, the number of Pitt fans who made the trip came to the front of the stands and joined the band, team, and cheerleaders in singing the school fight songs.

During the Alma Mater, I got goose bumps because I realized what we had done. We, a 4-7 team, had gone into our rival's house and effectively shut down the two most explosive offensive players in the country. We pulled off the biggest upset of the year by beating the #2 team in the nation and dashing their National Championship hopes. And here we are, singing to "Dear old Pittsburgh, Alma Mater". It was really special.

Sunday morning, I woke up and said "please let it be Sunday, because if it's not, I have one crazy dream to tell my friends about".
