* Watch the trailer for 'The Last Sin Eater'

PLOT REVIEW:
'The Last Sin Eater' is about a 10-year old girl Cadi (played by Liana Liberato) who looks for the Sin Eater to take her sin away because she blames herself for the death of her sister. As she searches for the Sin Eater, she meets all kinds of characters along the way and finally finds the answers she is looking for after her tumultuous journey!

CONTENT REVIEW:
‘The Last Sin Eater’ is an excellent and touching family movie that will keep you stuck to your seat and can be watched over and over again by people of all ages. Michael Landon Jr. did an excellent job in directing the themes of this movie. It is a movie that addresses issues such as sin, guilt, confession, forgiveness, evangelism, and most of all redemption find only in Jesus Christ no matter what the sin.

RECOMMENDATION:
The movie receives a 10 out of 10 rating!

SPIRITUAL CONNECTIONS - SPOILER ALERT:

SPOILER ALERT I:
Cadi searches and searches for the Sin Eater who can eat her sin away. She wants to find him so badly because she is haunted by what happened to her sister and feels only the Sin Eater can help her but realizes later he cannot help her at all and only one person could set her free.

This reminded me of Jesus who came into this world to eat away the sins of mankind by absorbing all the sin of humanity on the cross. As the sin of humanity was being absorbed by Jesus, those that received His help were being covered over by His precious blood, our Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. It is His blood shed on the cross that can wash away all our sins no matter what they are. Jesus came to become our Sin Eater and no one else can take our sin away except Christ alone.

“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21, NIV)

“This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” (Matthew 26:28, NIV)

“Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38, NIV)

“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace.” (Ephesians 1:7, NIV)

“For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.” (Colossians 1:19-20, NIV)

Questions to Ponder:
1. What other spiritual connections have you noticed in the movie?

2. What happens to a person who has to bear the sins of all others?

3. How did Cadi find peace at the end of the movie?

4. What are the sins that haunt you and where have you looked for deliverance?

5. Where should you look for deliverance from sin and guilt according to the movie?
