PLOT SYNOPSIS:

Captured By You’ (a.k.a Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne) is an electrifying thriller about a young lady name Tina (played by the beautiful Esha Deol) who leaves India for Banghok in search of her uncle only to find out that he died in an accident. She is befriended by a young man named Vijay (played by Zayed Khan) who may or may not be who he seems. People are after her now because they believe her uncle left her with 100 million dollars! Did he? The movie comes to an interesting conclusion after it keeps you guessing who is behind all this!

CONTENT REVIEW:
It is an electrifying thriller worth watching for the story line and the videos in it. Tina and Vijay play their part really well. It addresses issues such as loyalty, betrayal, greed, and love.

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES COMMENTARY WITH SPOILER ALERTS:

Spoiler Alert I:
In one scene, a couple are about to get married and the priest asks them for a commitment to be together asking them ‘in good times and in bad times, in sickness and health, for richer or poorer, I promise to be faithful to you till death do us apart!’

This is a very touching ceremony because it reminded me of many marriages that start out this way but end before death. People marry with good intentions but then selfish gain and reasons take over clouding out what true love is. Divorce should not even be an option in marriages if the vows that are said are meaningful otherwise a divorce is like saying, ‘You are dead to me!’

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8, NIV)

Spoiler Alert II:
Because of the greed for others money, lives are shattered and people are killed.

This reminded me of Bible verses that warn against choosing the greed for money over relationships!

“A greedy man brings trouble to his family, but he who hates bribes will live.” (Proverbs 15:27, NIV)

“Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." (Luke 12:15, NIV)

“Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve.” (1 Peter 5:2, NIV)

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION:
1. What are scenes in the movie that show you what genuine love is? What is love to you and how far will you go to show someone you love them?
2. When you are lied to time after time, what is your response and how is that similar or different to what happened in the movie?
3. Why is it that people are greedy for other people’s money and what outcome can it bring in people’s lives?
