Letter to Editor:

Papers' views should be broadened

Would members of the Libertarian Party of Allegheny be welcome to contribute articles to your web magazine?

The letter to the editor writer makes a valid point that your web site wants to 'Raise the Standard' by rebutting the Pitt News writers, yet you only offer a Conservative Christian viewpoint.

There's nothing wrong with that. The First Amendment is still in effect last time I checked and it is YOUR web page, after all.

But there is considerable overlap between libertarian and conservative Christian viewpoints on most economic issues, although we differ on many social issues.

If you are looking for a wider range of viewpoints for your web page, consider the libertarians. Check out our local web page at www.lppgh.org and let me know if contributions from libertarians would be welcome.

Email me at info@lppgh.org if this would be okay.

We could also provide a link to your site. Additionally, we often disagree with the Pitt News on many issues. Some of our members occasionally make use of the e-Pitt News' feedback feature to make our views known.

In any case, you seem to have some prolific writers and I agree with many, though not all of your articles. Keep up the good work.

In liberty,
Tim Crowley,

Chair, LP of Allegheny County
