A letter from the founders of the Oakland Zoo!!!

 Dear Oakland Zoo members,

The season is sneaking up on us.  With the regular season less than three weeks away and the preseason less than a week, we wanted to let everyone know what has been taking place since you last saw us.  The t-shirts will be received over this weekend and we will want to get them out to you ASAP.

With over 1200 interested student, we first would like to thank you for your support and for your patience as we try to accommodate everyone in distributing the shirts.

The Blue and Gold scrimmage is Wednesday November 6, and the following preseason game will be home on November 9 against the EA Sports All-Stars.

We are currently working to organize a pep-rally on the Nov 9th to pass out the shirts, and formally introduce ourselves and answer any questions you may have.  The pep rally will be held at the PS lot, which is located next to the Bellevue Church (across from the student book store).  The lot is at the corner of 5th Avenue and University Place.

We will e-mail you later this week to let you know all the details.  Also we are looking into bus trips for away games.  With proceeds that have received from sponsors and donations from alumni, our goal is to make the trip as cheap to you as possible, because the team will need our support this year both home and away if we want to compete for the national title.  WVU, Penn State, and Notre Dame are all good possibilities, but we need your feedback to see how many people would be interested in going, if the bus was funded by the Zoo and the only thing you would need to pay for would be the tickets.  This is the first time we have ever organized such trips and need reassurance that if we commit ourselves for a bus to these locations, we could fill them up.  If we can fill up buses for trips to other away games, we will also do whatever we can to book those as well, so check the season's schedule at http://www.pittsburghpanthers.com/sports/mbball/schedule.asp  and if there are other away games you would like to attend let us know and we will look into them.

Until then, if you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please reply back at sorc+oaklandzoo@pitt.edu and we will respond.

Thanks & Lets Go Pitt,
The founding members of the Oakland Zoo

Pitt football player Penny leaves after visiting the Zoo sign up table as founder Matt Cohen watches as he leans against the bus schedules. He and his co-founders are going to distribute the free Zoo t-shirts Saturday, Nov 9 at the PS Lot next to Bellefield Presbyterian Church from 3-7 p.m.
