Hungry Panthers win Pittsburgh Classic!

While the men’s football team could not stop the
Rockets from propelling to victory at the Glass Bowl, the Lady Panthers
made the Rockets fall.
Toledo Rockets fell to the hungry Panthers, 3-0 in a Pittsburgh Classic
volleyball match at Fitzerald Fieldhouse on Friday, Sept 19, 03. This
victory did not appease the Panthers hunger.
The Panthers came back the next day and smothered the
Huskies, 3-0 in the afternoon making them their lunch meat as the
Pittsburgh Classic continued. The Northeastern Huskies could not escape
the Panthers smother.
Six game victories in a row made the Panthers
hungrier for dinner. As the Glass Bowl was underway in Toledo, Ohio on
Saturday, Sept 20, 03, at 7:00 pm., the Lady Panthers trapped some Horned
Frogs. It seemed like the Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs
could get free for a victory but the Lady Panther’s paws were too strong
for the Horned Frogs to escape their grasp. Eventually, the Panthers had
an excellent dinner with a 3-0 sweep as the Pittsburgh Classic came to a
conclusion.

In their hunger, the Panthers won nine games in a row
to win the Pittsburgh Classic. They intend to leave their homes and travel
across the nation for some Big East showdowns and should be back hungrier
at the Fitzerald Fieldhouse on Friday, Oct 10, 03 to take on the
Connecticut Huskies this time. It is also Student Spirit Contest day!
