Editors Note: Relive memories of the 2005 cheerleading
and dance team before you see the 2006 cheerleading and dance team at
Fan Fest! The pictures do not include the entire squad because the
Panther mascot and the guy cheerleaders were not available at the time
the pictures were taken! You may have to wait about a minute or less for
the pictures to appear.
As incoming Freshman were moving
in and upper-classmen were giving them a hand through ‘Arrival
Survival’, the University of Pittsburgh Cheerleading and Dance Team were
there to cheer them, entertain them, and teach them the Pitt cheer
chants at High Noon on Thursday, Aug 25. Later, they took time to go to
FanFest at Heinz Field and cheer more fans waiting for autographs from
players and coaches including David Wannstedt. They also took time to
allow fans to take pictures of them. In honor of all their hard work to
bring cheers and smiles to you all, this poem is my way of introducing
the 2005 University of Pittsburgh Cheerleading and Dance Team and
introducing the love of my life.

Welcome your Pitt
cheerleaders/dance team of 2005
They make the student section
come alive
They are here for you at Pitt;
Smiles and cheers with
To see all of your faces lit
This is no myth
Whether we win or lose
To bring you smiles and cheers
they choose
They are also really kind
Time they will find
Waiting if you don’t mind
For a picture to take
For keeps sake!
Both squads do their part
Trying to light up a cheer in
every Panther heart!
Humans can only do so much on
their part
But, there is One who wants to forever light your heart
If you will only give Him a
start
Jesus Christ is His Name
For you and me from Heaven He
came
To give you Eternal Life
And help you overcome Satan’s
strife
Now with Jesus, you can testify
to unconditional love
That comes from Heaven above!
You will see what unconditional
love has done
When you allow Jesus to your
life run!
May the Lord give you His Peace
As you call upon Him on your
knees!
For you all are 'Destined to
Win'
One day Heaven you can enter in!
You will now be taken through a slideshow of the
University of Pittsburgh cheerleading and dance team of 2005 with most
of their members as you listen to the background song "Destined to Win"
